WORSHIP
Here, amidst the digital expanse, we gather as a community of believers to honor, adore, and glorify the One who is worthy of all our worship.
Worship at Holy Comforter blends music and liturgy steeped in the grand Anglican and Episcopal traditions with preaching and language which speaks to our modern condition.
You will hear beautiful music, experience silence, and see people using gestures as a way to express the inexpressible during our liturgies.
Throughout the Christian story, music has played a vital role in expressing faith in the living God. Whether we offer praise from the pew, sing in a choir, or play a musical instrument, we have the opportunity to express our thanks and gratitude to the Christ who has triumphed gloriously for us.
IN-PERSON CHURCH SERVICE
TWO SERVICES: 8:15AM & 10:30AM
8:15 am Rite II spoken service and a 10:30 am Rite II service featuring organ music and a full choir. During Lent, we observe Rite I. Our services are grounded in tradition, following the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer, with occasional use of text from the Scottish Psalter and New Zealand Prayer Book. Music is vital to our 10:30 am worship service, drawing primarily on The Hymnal 1982 and supplementing with additional styles as appropriate for our congregation. In addition to Sunday services, we have traditionally offered a regular healing service, as well as occasional Evensong and Compline services. Children gather for Godly Play during a portion of each Sunday morning service.

CHOIR
CHANCEL CHOIR
comprises about 15 members of the parish who sing in our 10:30 am worship on Sunday morning and in other services. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evening from 7-8:30pm, and prior to the service on Sunday mornings.
FUNERAL CHOIR
is a group of church members, many of them retired, who are able to respond to short notice to provide musical leadership for funeral services.
TREBLE CHOIR
is open to singers who read between ages 7-16, and rehearses on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00pm. They sing occasionally in worship on Sunday, sometimes singing their own anthems, and sometimes joining with the Chancel Choir. The Treble Choir program is affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM). The RSCM works throughout the English-speaking world to promote the use of music in enriching Christian worship and to provide practical means of achieving the highest possible performance standards for music in worship. Singers are educated in vocal production, music reading and theory, music and church history, and Christian formation.
MUSIC
Holy Comforter has an active musical life with other offerings in addition to Sunday morning services. These include SUNG COMPLINE SERVICES, CHORAL EVENSONG SERVICES, and a SERIES OF CHORAL, VOICE, AND ORGAN RECITALS, often in conjunction with musicians from the broader community. We invite you to join the music ministry at Holy Comforter, either as an active musical participant or as an active listener and supporter.
